As a long-term supplier to the energy sector, DAI offers extensive experience of applications in this sector. In the 1980s, DAI delivered the application software for the Torness auto-control system, the last of the British-designed AGR stations. Over a 25 year period, DAI has provided project assistance and support to British Energy and its predecessors.
In addition to control systems and information provision for the operational environment, DAI has also built up extensive experience with plant simulators for a number of stations. In delivering and modifying safety-related software, we have also gained considerable expertise in the verification of software (to 61508), including the development and operation of Automated Test Facilities, impact analysis tools and the automated building of software environments. Taken together, these techniques enable the deterministic and safe promotion of software builds when modifications are made.
Other specialist DAI expertise in the nuclear sector includes track and trace software for the accurate accounting of inventory.
